How fast can you actually start?
Usually within a few days of the intro call. Fixed-scope projects start on the next available Monday; hourly work can start as soon as the NDA is signed and access is set up. If we're at capacity, we'll tell you the real date instead of overpromising.
How does hourly billing work in practice?
You get a weekly itemized report: every task, the time it took, and what's queued next. You can set a monthly hour cap we won't exceed without asking. No minimum hours, no "use it or lose it" retainers - a quiet month costs you nothing.
What if we only need a few hours a month?
That's fine, and more common than you'd think. Some clients use us two hours a month as a standing second opinion; others ramp to twenty during a launch. The model is built to flex - that's the point of it.
Who exactly will work on our product?
The senior consultant you meet on the intro call - not a junior team working behind their name. One person owns your engagement end to end, does the research personally, and presents the findings live.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes, before we see anything - your data, your metrics, your roadmap. We can use your template or ours. Anonymized excerpts (like the ones on the sample report page) only ever appear with explicit written permission.
What do you need from us to get going?
One 60-minute kickoff call, read-only analytics access (or exports), and a product account. Optionally, intros to 5-8 users for interviews - that's where the best findings come from, but we can work without it. Full list on the
How we work page.
What happens after the audit is delivered?
You get a live session where we defend every finding, then a 30-day follow-up call to review what changed. Many clients keep us on hourly afterwards to help sequence and sanity-check the fixes - but the report is written so your team can run with it alone.
Can you also build the fixes? Design them? Market them?
No - deliberately. We don't sell development, design production, or marketing, so our recommendations never funnel you toward a bigger contract with us. That independence is why you can trust the findings. We're happy to brief whichever team you choose.
What if we disagree with your findings?
Good - push back. Every finding is traced to its evidence, so we can look at the source together. Sometimes you have context we missed and the finding changes; sometimes the data holds and it doesn't. Either way you end up with a sharper answer than "the consultant said so."
What timezones and industries do you cover?
We work async-first in writing, so timezones rarely matter - calls get scheduled in the overlap. Industry-wise: we're strongest in B2B SaaS, marketplaces and consumer apps. If your product needs deep domain expertise we don't have, we'll say so on the intro call instead of learning on your budget.
How are you different from hiring a freelancer off a marketplace?
Marketplaces match you with whoever's available; the quality is a lottery and the deliverable format is whatever that person prefers. With us, you know exactly who does the work, the method is public on this site, and every engagement produces the same evidence-backed, severity-ranked format you can see in the
sample report.
What if it's not working out?
Say so, and we stop - hourly work has no notice period, and you only pay for hours already delivered. We'd rather end an engagement cleanly than coast on an unhappy client. Our next contract depends on this one being genuinely useful.
